Goals of the Team:
The purpose of the Lane Tech Ultimate Frisbee Team is to grow as Ultimate players, teammates, compete at tournaments, and to advance the spirit of the game. This is a competitive team that will participate in practices, league games, and tournaments, but we will also practice good sportsmanship and be supportive and good teammates. We want to win when we play, but also be silly and enjoy our teammates and opponents at the same time. We will compete in multiple tournaments throughout the year and finish with the State tournament in late May or early June.
Practices:
Spring practices (2020) will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Clark Park from 3:30 to 5:15. We meet at the south end of the park. Bring your cleats, water, and a disc. Make sure to dress for the weather. If you have questions, feel free to contact Coach Berg rberg@cps.edu.
Tournaments:
2019-2020 Tournaments are TBD.
It is expected that everyone on the team make the tournaments. They are both days of the weekend and range in times from 9am - 5pm (Sunday usually ends earlier). They are long weekends, but tournaments are when you fall in love with the game. Ask a returner and they will tell you all about them.
Costs:
Spring Season: $65, which includes the two tournaments, a disc, USA Ultimate membership, and other random swag.
Jerseys: $55 for a light and a dark jersey.
Shorts: $35 for shorts
Jerseys will be the same as last year, so you do not need to purchase new jerseys if you are a returner, but you can purchase extra if you would like. Other options such as long sleeves and reversibles will also be available for purchase.
To play in the State Tournament, then you must have a team jersey (shorts are optional).
Dues are important so that we can compete and travel. We try to keep the costs to a minimum, but there are expenses throughout the season. If you feel that you would like to contribute more than the $65, please do so at checkout in the store.
At no point do we want individuals to not play due to money, so if you are on free and reduced lunch, or you do not feel that you can afford the dues, then you can fill out the scholarship form. Ultimate is a sport for everyone!
